Las Calaveras 2024
Las Calaveras directly translates to The Skulls, a reference to the iconic La Calavera Catrina etching from around 1910-1912. La Catrina is a ubiquitous character and is known as "The Dapper [female] Skull,". Its imagery depicts a female skeleton wearing an elaborate hat and has since been associated with the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead. For the cigar's concept Crowned Heads combines both this iconography and holiday using each annual release to honor the lives of those that have passed on.
Ten years post its initial debut, Las Calaveras EL 2024 has seen its release into the market with much anticipation from the cigar community and will not disappoint. For the second time, Crowned Heads partnered with the prestigious My Father Cigars to craft this 2024 blend. The result is not one, but two cigars to mark the momentous milestone! This includes the classic Crowned Heads Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024 cigar featured here, in addition to the more elitist approach, Las Calaveras Décimo Aniversario blend, which was specially crafted to signify the impressive anniversary.
The cigar utilizes tobaccos grown on the Garcia family farm contributing to its rich profile. Its composition is an all-Nicaraguan blend topped off with a smooth, dark Habano-seed wrapper. Smokers can expect a medium to full-bodied smoking experience with exquisite notes of baking spice, cedar, leather, sweet fruits and earth. If your customers enjoyed the 2015 blend, they are sure to love this one!
Presented in well executed packaging, the cigars’ bands boast a color known as ‘Mexican Pink.’ The hot pink color is often seen throughout Mexican culture and has been popular since about the 1940s. Equally attractive is the collectible box sure to incite conversation no matter its placement. Here you will see the signature hot pink referenced in a skull imagery atop an all black canvas making for a striking look.
Just a total of 1,500 boxes of each of the three Vitolas: LC48 Toro (6x48), LC52 Robusto (5x52) and LC54 Toro (6x54) were produced at My Father Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua. Well thought out and testament to the brand’s ingenuity, each box houses 24 cigars. More specifically, three rows of eight. This is because the three rows represent life’s cycle of beginning, middle, and end. Eight because in mathematical terms an ‘8’ laid on its side symbolizes ‘infinity,’ as in eternal life.
